The St. Thomas Aquinas women's basketball team received a 9th place ranking in the Northeast Region. The rankings are composed of the top 10 teams in the region among the CACC, ECC and the Northeast-10. STAC is currently 14-4 and 10-1 in the ECC.
The Lady Spartans are led by junior Briana Sloper who averages 18.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Sophomore guards Shpresa Liharevic and Bianca Kowgios have paced STAC with 11.8 and 11.0 points per game. Kowgios is among the top assist leaders in the ECC and has dished out over 100 assists so far this season. Lone senior and team captain, Theresa Dowling has been a steady force for the Lady Spartans on both ends of the court. Dowling averages 5.7 points and 5.9 rebounds for STAC.
The Lady Spartans will travel to C.W. Post today for a 5:00 p.m. game.
