The St. Thomas Aquinas women's basketball team beat C.W. Post, 59-47.  Briana Sloper had 16 points and 5 rebounds for STAC while Leane Urbancik added 14 points and 3 blocks.  Bianca Kowgios had 9 points, 5 assists and 2 steals.

The Pioneers opened the game on a 10-4 run with 12:55 remaining in the half.  STAC regained the lead with layups from Sloper and Kim Vareles along with a Riley Harrington 3-pointer to go ahead 11-10.  The Pioneers tied the game at 11 until Urbancik completed a 3-point play to give STAC back the lead for good.  Urbancik added 6 more unanswered points to give the Lady Spartans a 22-11 lead with 4:59 to play in the first half.  C.W. Post finished the half with an 11-6 run to close within 6 at the break, 28-22.

Harrington hit a jumper with 11:30 left in the game to give STAC a 44-33 lead.  STAC held a double digit lead for the remainder of the game extending it to 19 off a jumper by Liharevic at 4:06.  Vareles led STAC with 7 rebounds and also dished out 3 assists. 

The Lady Spartans will return to action on Saturday when they host Bridgeport at 1:00.
