Five game win streak snapped at Holy Family, 59-36

Holy Family defeated the St. Thomas Aquinas College women's basketball team 59-36 in an ECC - CACC tilt contested in Philadelphia on Monday evening. The loss snapped the Lady Spartans winning streak at five games.

Bianca Kowgios led STAC (7-4) with nine points and nine rebounds while Shpresa Lharevic added seven points and Kim Vareles snatched a team high 10 boards. Holy Family (7-3) was led by Erin Mann's double-double (21 points and 10 rebounds). Both clubs head into the holiday break in first place in their respective conferences.

After the holiday hiatus, the Lady Spartans wrap up 2011 on December 30th with a double-header at Pace University, with tip-off time at 1:30 before the men's teams take the hardwood. On Wednesday, January 4, 2012 they resume conference play at Molloy College, travel to Greenvale, New York to take on C.W. Post on Saturday, January 7, and finally return to Aquinas Hall to face Dowling College in a twin-bill with the men's team on Wednesday, January 11.

The January 4 contests at Molloy will be available on video as the first of the East Coast Conference's Featured Game double-headers. Both games will have full production provided by Pack Network, and will be broadcast by STAC's own crew of play-by-play voice Steve Balsan and analyst John Dwinell.
