Women's Basketball Falls at Roberts Wesleyan, 66-53

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's basketball team dropped the back end of it's northern weekend, 66-53 at Roberts Wesleyan College in an East Coast Conference tilt. Sabrina Eggink led the Lady Spartans with 16 points. STAC fell to 7-8 overall and 3-7 in the ECC with the setback, with Roberts Wesleyan improving to 8-8, 4-6.

Roberts Wesleyan scored the first six points of the contest and never trailed. STAC battled back to tie the score at 40-40 in the second half, but the hosts reeled off the next nine points and led by as many as 13 down the stretch. Samantha Burden added 10 points for St. Thomas Aquinas, while Marissa Sell led four Redhawks in double figures with 12 points.

The Lady Spartans return to action this Tuesday, January 28, welcoming Mercy College to Aquinas Hall for an ECC showdown. Game time is slated for 5:30 pm, with the men's teams taking the hardwood to follow.
