Lady Spartans Stifle Concordia in 60-33 Win

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's basketball team cruised to a 60-33 victory over Concordia College in a non-conference game at Aquinas Hall. The Lady Spartans improved to 3-0 with the win while Concordia dropped to 0-4 overall. STAC also won its eighth straight regular season game dating back to last season.

Both teams struggled to find offensive in a tight first quarter, which ended with the Lady Spartans holding a 10-5 lead. Alex Bertolino hit a three pointer and followed with a lay-up as part of a 16-2 STAC run over the first seven minutes of the second quarter, and the hosts held a commanding 28-11 advantage by halftime.

St. Thomas Aquinas added the first six points of the third quarter and never looked back as their lead was never less than 20 the rest of the way. Twelve different Lady Spartans hit the score sheet, with Kaitlyn McCue leading the way with nine points, Jenna Erickson adding eight, and Bertolino, Kellyann Averill, and Adiya Henderson chipping in seven each, with Henderson adding 13 rebounds and seven blocks. Hadiyah Black was a standout for the Clippers, grabbing 18 rebounds to go with six blocks.
