St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Basketball player Jenna Erickson was named the East Coast Conference Player of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans' home regular season finale on Saturday.
Erickson had 34 points to go along with 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in the Spartans' 84-60 victory over the University of the District of Columbia. The senior guard from Melrose, NY shot 66.6 percent (12-for-18) from the field, 77.7 percent (7-for-9) from three and 100.0 percent (3-for-3) from the free throw line.
The Spartans, who retained their #4 ranking in last week's NCAA East Region ranking, take a 24-4 record overall along with their 16-2 conference mark into this week's ECC Women's Basketball Tournament. STAC finished with the #2 seed and receives a first round bye to the semi-finals on Saturday, March 3, at Voller Athletic Center at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY. STAC will play the second game of the day, with a 2:30 pm tip, opponents are to be determined.
