Spartans Erickson Picks Up ECC & Met Basketball Writers Player of the Week Honors

St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Basketball player Jenna Erickson was named the East Coast Conference and Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Division II Player of the Week on Tuesday, following the Spartans' 3-0 week on the court.

Erickson averaged 24 points per game in the Spartans' wins over Queens College, Daemen College and Roberts Wesleyan College last week. Jenna had 11 points to go along with 5 assists versus Queens on Tuesday. The senior guard then recorded 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists against Daemen on Friday, before dropping a career-high 32 points, along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists to close out STAC's 4-game home stand on Sunday versus Roberts Wesleyan College. On the week, Erickson shot 55.3 percent (26-for-47) from the field, 46.6 percent (14-for-30) from three and 100.0 percent (6-for-6) from the free throw line.

The 20-3 Spartans, have already clinched a berth to the ECC Women's Basketball Tournament, return to action on Wednesday, squaring off with Mercy College in a game that will be played at Nyack College at 5:30pm. They return to Aquinas Hall to meet the University of Bridgeport on Saturday, February 10th, with double-header action starting at 1:00pm.
