Sarah Ericson Named D2CIDA Women's Basketball Division II Player of the Week

Augusta, Ga. - St. Thomas Aquinas College guard Sarah Ericson has been named the Women's Basketball Division II Player of the Week by the D2CIDA. The junior from Norwich, Connecticut, averaged 27.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 4.5 steals and 2.5 blocks per game over two wins last week.

She dropped 30 points, grabbed eight rebounds, dished out six assists, and forced six steals in 37 minutes in a 70-59 win over Daemen University before recording 24 points, nine rebounds, two assists, three steals and five blocks in 36 minutes in a 67-46 win over D'Youville University. Ericson also shot 54.0 percent (20-of-37) from the field, 40.0 percent (6-of-15) from three and 88.8 percent (8-of-9) from the foul line. The 30 points is tied for the second-most in a single game in the East Coast Conference this season.

Ericson is currently ranked second in the ECC in scoring and sixth in rebounding. She is also second in the league in field goal percentage, third in free throw percentage, ninth in assists and 12th in steals.

The Division II Player of the Week is selected by the Division II Conference Information Directors Association (D2CIDA).
