Syrita Faraj Earns ECC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Honors

St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Basketball player Syrita Faraj was named the East Coast Conference Player of the Week, following the Spartans 90-84 overtime loss at Post University on New Year's Eve.

Faraj (Troy, N.Y.) racked up a double-double, posting a game-high 31 points and a game-high 17 rebounds in STAC's setback to the Eagles last Tuesday. The senior guard/forward also tallied five assists and two steals in 40 minutes of action, while shooting 59.0 percent (13-of-22) from the field, 50.0 percent (1-of-2) from beyond the arc, and 100.0 percent (4-of-4) from the charity stripe.

STAC opens 2025, hosting the University of the District of Columbia on Wednesday, January 8 at Aquinas Hall. The Spartans and Firebirds will tip-off the midweek ECC doubleheader beginning at 5:00 p.m., with the men's squads to follow at around 7:00 p.m.
