Women's Bowling Battles DII & DIII's Best at Wilmington Wildcat Invitational

New Castle, Del. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Bowling team returned to action on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, competing against some of Division II and III's best at the three-day Wilmington University Wildcat Invitational.

Day one at Bowlerama featured five, five-game baker matches, which saw the Spartans record a 3,443 series, including a 4-1 victory over Holy Family University.

When the teams returned to the lanes for Saturday action, the focus was shifted to more traditional matches. STAC battled in five contests, featuring doubles and singles competition. The maroon and gold totaled 3,423 pins on the day and saw Natalie Levi break her personal best mark. Teammate Ashley Sena continued her stellar play, picking up a handful of difficult splits for the Spartans.

In the championship round of competition on the final day, all 11 participating teams went head-to-head in three, best-of-seven baker matches. After losing match one to D'Youville University, STAC fought on and regained momentum when they took another 4-1 win against Holy Family to advance to their last match. The finale was a nail-biter, with the Spartans and Kutztown University tied at one point, but ultimately the Golden Bears pulled ahead to take match.

It was an eventful weekend for the maroon and gold, as they saw 8,883 pins fall over three days, while the team continues to grow and learn from its experiences on the lanes.

STAC next returns to action at the Molloy University Lions Roar for National Cancer Society, which will be held on Saturday, March 4 at AMF Garden City Lanes on Long Island.
