STAC Women's Bowling Continues Strong Play in Weekend Tournaments at Suffolk C.C. and Wagner

Babylon & Staten Island, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Bowling team continued its strong play, taking to the lanes for back-to-back events on Saturday and Sunday as the 2022-23 season marches towards postseason action in mere weeks.

SUFFOLK COMMUNITY COLLEGE SHARKS OPEN - FEBRUARY 11

On Saturday, the Spartans competed in the 17th Annual Suffolk Community College Sharks Open at AMF Babylon Lanes. The sophomore duo of Ashley Sena and Samantha Larkin once again paced the STAC offense, shooting a 900 plus series, while junior Shaniah Alago had her personal best doubles series, which allowed her to shoot just under 900.

Leading the singles circuit was senior Katie Healy, who knocked a total of 532 pins, marking her season high to date.

Rounding out the day for the maroon and gold, Ashley Sena recorded a 1,005 total pinfall, which is her best tally of her collegiate career.

WAGNER COLLEGE 3-MATCH DUAL - FEBRUARY 12

Returning to action the very next day, STAC battled Wagner College in the Hawk Smash Dual Matches at Rab's Country Lanes. The two squads went head-to-head, playing two traditional matches and a best-of-seven baker match.

Senior Katie Healy starred in the event and finished top in the top three, which earned her an All-Tournament team selection.

While the Spartans fought to keep each match close, Wagner carried more pins to take home the win.

St. Thomas Aquinas College will return to action next weekend (February 17, 18, 19) at the Wilmington University DII-DIII Wildcat Invitational. The three-day event will take place at Bowlerama in New Castle, Delaware.
