Women's Bowling Scores First and Second Place Weekend Finishes At Eastern Intercollegiate Bowling Tournaments

Staten Island, N.Y. & Elmwood Park, N.J. - Picking up where they left off in December, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Bowling team kicked off competition in 2024 at the Eastern Intercollegiate Bowling Tournaments, which were held over two days at both Rab's Country Lanes and Parkway Lanes.

Day 1-Rab's Country Lanes - Staten Island, N.Y.

Competing in five team games and ten baker games, STAC went head-to-head with the newly created College of Staten Island squad. The Spartans trio of Shaniah Alago (Sr.|Bronx, N.Y.), Ashley Sena (Jr.|Garnerville, N.Y.) and Samantha Larkin (Jr.|Harriman, N.Y.) had a strong showing to land them all on the All-Tournament team. With the success and contribution of everyone on the team, the maroon and gold came out on top winning our first-ever tournament championship, beating the Dolphins by 304 pins (4163-3859).

Day 2-Parkway Lanes - Elmwood Park, N.J.

Returning to action the very next day, just at a different set of lanes in another state, St. Thomas Aquinas College battled the College of Staten Island for a second consecutive day. Sunday's competition featured 35 baker games against the Dolphins, and despite being a person down for the match, the Spartans put forth a strong effort. Staten Island came out on top to split the weekend series by the score of 3976 to 3720.
