Limerick, Pa. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Bowling team traveled to the Keystone State for two days of action on the lanes at the Chestnut Hill College Griffin Baker Classic.

On Saturday the team competed in a five-game baker series, where overall pinfall determined the winner of each match. STAC was able to earn a pair of victories over Holy Family University (735-699) and Dominican University (750-749), but fell short against Long Island University (888-679), Norfolk State University (889-792) and Bryant University (1023-725).

Sunday's action featured a two-game baker match to determine qualifying and positioning of teams in the best of seven final elimination round. The Spartans dropped matches against hosts Chestnut Hill University (852-707) and Monmouth University (927-672) to be seeded #14 in the finals. In the first round, St. Thomas Aquinas dispatched Holy Family University, 912-803 to advance to second round play. Unfortunately, the day ended there for the maroon and gold, as a third matchup with Chestnut Hill saw the Griffins be victorious 820-566 to eliminate STAC.

St. Thomas Aquinas College will return to play on Saturday, February 10 as the Spartans take part in the 18th Annual Suffolk Community College Tournament, which will be held at AMF Babylon Lanes on Long Island.
