The St. Thomas Aquinas lacrosse team lost to St. Anselm College, 17-4 in yesterday's game.  Sophomore Anne Buttafuoco scored two goals in STAC's opening game.  Freshman Stephanie Brown and Johannah Mitchell each added goals for STAC, in their collegiate debut. 

Brown put the Lady Spartans on the board scoring thirteen minutes into the game to tie the score 1-1.  Buttaffuoco had a team high nine shot attempts as she scored her first goal seventeen minutes into play to give STAC a 2-1 lead.   St. Anslem's scored five more goals to end the half ahead, 6-2.  Buttaffuoco scored her second goal four minutes into the second half making the score, 8-3.  Mitchell scored the final goal for STAC with twenty-three minutes left in the game.  Jen Kugler had 4 saves in the loss.

The Lady Spartans will travel to AIC for their next game on Saturday.  Game time is slated for 12:00 noon.
