The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team lost to Mercy College, 19-5.  Johanna Mitchell scored 2 goals while Anne Buttafuoco, Liz Gronwoldt and Sara Schmidt each had 1.

STAC got on the scoreboard first with a goal from Mitchell at the 28:50 mark.  Mercy added two goals, before Buttafuoco scored to tie the game 2-2.  The Maverick's went on to score 8 more goals before STAC would stirke again.  Mercy held a 12-3 lead at the half.

The Lady Spartans scored the first goal of the second half as Mitchell connected on a free position shot.  However, Mercy continued to dominate in the second half.  Gronwoldt scored STAC's final goal with a little over a minute remaining.  Marissa Hurley had a game high 6 goals to lead Mercy. 

STAC will return to action on Sunday when they take on Philadelphia University.
