The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team lost to Queens College, 16-15.  Anne Buttafuoco had 6 goals for the Lady Spartans.  Sara Schmidt added 3 goals while Stephanie Brown and Johanna Mitchell each had 2 goals for STAC.

The Knights outscored the Lady Spartans 9-5 in the first half.  Buttafuoco had 3 of her 6 goals in the first half.  STAC was down 12-6 and then went on to score three goals to come within three.  Schmidt, Buttafuoco and Brown each scored during that two minute stretch.  Queens scored their final goal at the six minute mark to make the score 16-11.  The Lady Spartans rallied during the final minutes of action scoring four goals to come within one, 16-15.  Liz Gronwoldt and Alannah McCalister each added a goal during that final span.

Jeanette Gibson had 9 saves for STAC.  The Lady Spartans will play Bridgeport on Saturday April 30th at 7:00 p.m.  Saturday's game will represent the senior game for STAC's three seniors; Jeanette Gibson, Kim Pinzon and Sara Rusciano.
