The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat Lake Erie, 12-11 this afternoon.  Anne Buttafuoco had 4 goals and 2 assists for the Lady Spartans.  Stephanie Brown, Alannah McCallister and Johannah Mitchell each added 2 goals.

STAC fell behind 4-0 before Mitchelle scored her first goal at 23:02.  Lake Erie added another goal before the Lady Spartans rattled off three goals of their own to come within one, 5-4.  STAC outscored the storm in the final minutes of the first half to take a 7-6 lead with a goal from Liz Gronwoldt to end the half. 

Lake Erie regained the lead to begin the second half but STAC would not go away quietly.  Sara Buttafuoco's goal at 17:42 tied the score 8-8 and Sara Schmidt scored to give STAC a lead it would not relinquish. 

Jeanette Gibson recorded 7 saves for STAC.  The Lady Spartans will face Seton Hill on Sunday.
