The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team fell to Molloy College, 19-11 on Saturday afternoon.  Genevieve Stickney scored 4 goals for the Lady Spartans, while Anne Buttafuoco added 3 goals.  Margaret Sharp had 2 goals and Samantha Lowney and Stephanie Brown each added 1 goal.

Stickney scored the first goal for the Lady Spartans at the 19 minute mark off a free position shot.  Sharp and Buttafuoco added goals late in the first half and the Molloy Lions took an 11-3 lead into the break.

The Lady Spartans fought back hard in the second half, as Buttafuoco scored the first goal of the half and added another goal a few minutes later.  Both teams exchanged goals with STAC outscoring Molloy 6-4, making the score, 15-9.  The Lions closed the final 10 minutes with a 4-2 run.

Stephanie Nelson had 11 saves for STAC and the Lady Spartans finished off their best season with an 8-8 record.  STAC will lose two seniors, Anne Buttafuoco and Sara Schmidt to graduation but looks forward to the bright future ahead.  Freshmen Genevieve Stickney finished the season off with a team high 54 goals.  Margaret Sharp added 51 goals and Anne Buttafuoco finished with 43 goals.
