Lady Spartans Stay Hot, Beating SCSU 18-11

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat Southern Connectiut, 18-11 Wednesday afternoon.  Margaret Sharp continued her offensive output scoring a game high 7 goals for the second consecutive game.  Genevieve Stickney scored 5 goals for the Lady Spartans.  Stephanie Nelson recorded 6 saves.

STAC got off to a strong start, scoring the first four goals of the game, two coming from Stickney.  Senior Anne Buttafuoco added two goals of her own before the break to give STAC a 7-4 lead at halftime. 

Stickney scored the first goal of the second half before Sharp rattled off four goals in a row for STAC.  The sophomore was not done as she scored her seventh goal with just under four minutes in the game to give the Lady Spartans a comfortable lead. 

Samantha Lowney scored 2 goals for STAC and Alannah McAllister add 1 goal and 2 assists.  Erica Orser and J Shaw each scored 3 goals for the Owls.

STAC will return to action on Saturday, when they host Seton Hill at 2:00 at Torne Valley.
