Lady Spartans Set for ECC Playoffs Against Golden Lions

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team has made history this season reaching the ECC playoffs for the first time, as well as tying their season high wins total and going undefeated, 7-0 on their home field.  The #3 seed Lady Spartans are set to play #2 seed Dowling College on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m.

Magaret Sharp leads the STAC offense with 99 points off 58 goals and 41 assists.  Sharp scored her 100th career goal earlier in the season during a road win at Wilmington College.  The senior recorded a single game high of 8 goals on Apriul 1st against Queens College.   Junior attack, Genevieve Stickney is also a force on the STAC offense with 43 goals on the season and 6 assists.  Stickney surpassed the 100 goal mark last season as she led the attack with a season high 58 goals.

Junior midfielders Samantha Lowney and Kellie Kucinski have chipped in 36 and 33 goals respectively while junior Alexas Serras is second in assists with 9 and has recorded 14 goals.  

Goalie Kaitlyn Lonergan has been key to the Lady Spartans defense recording 139 saves and two shutouts this season.  Lonergan has been named the ECC Goalkeeper of the week four times this season.  Seniors Kelly Moresi, Becky Torres and Cassie Michelotti have been instrumental in the Lady Spartans defense.
