Lady Spartans Earn All Conference Recognition

St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse senior Margaret Sharp and Becky Torres have been named to the ECC 1st team all conference.  Juniors Samantha Lowney, Alexis Serras and Kaitlyn Lonergan received 2nd team all conference recognition.  STAC finished the regular season 12-4 and clinched a spot in the ECC playoffs for the first time in program history.

Magaret Sharp leads the STAC offense with 99 points off 58 goals and 41 assists.  Sharp scored her 100th career goal earlier in the season during a road win at Wilmington College.  The senior recorded a single game high of 8 goals on Apriul 1st against Queens College.

Becky Torres is the core of the STAC defense and has started and played in all 16 games this season.  Torres recorded 24 ground balls and has been instrumental in the Lady Spartan's success this season.  

Junior midfielders Samantha Lowney has scored 36 goals and 8 assists for a total of 44 points.  Lowney has been a consistant spark for the STAC attack along with fellow junior Alexas Serras who is second on the team in assists with 9 and has recorded 14 goals.   

Goalie Kaitlyn Lonergan has been key to the Lady Spartans defense recording 139 saves and two shutouts this season.  Lonergan has been named the ECC Goalkeeper of the week four times this season. 

STAC's 12 wins tie their season high wins total and the Lady Spartans went 7-0, on their home field.  The #3 seed Lady Spartans are set to play #2 seed Dowling College on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m.
