Sharp Shooting Propels STAC Past Queens, 21-7

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat Queens College, 21-7 to improve to 8-2 and 3-0 in conference play.  Margaret Sharp scored a career high 8 goals and and 3 assists to guide the STAC attack.  Genevieve Stickney and Samantha Lowney added 4 and 3 goals respectively. 

STAC continued their strong start almost shutting out the Knight in the first half.  Sharp opened up the scoring action with the first goal of the game and scored 6 of her 8 goals in the first half.  Lowney and Kellie Kucinski each chipped in a first half goal and Stickney had 2 of her 4 goals as STAC held a 10-1 lead at the break.  

Queens came out firing in the second half rallying off 3 quick goals however, Lowney and Sharp came back with answers.  The Lady Spartans outscored the Knights 11-3 down the stretch.  Katherine Boriello and Sam Silvestri each recorded their first goals on the season.  Alexis Serras and Sabrina Prestano each added a goal as the Lady Spartans had eight different goal scorers. 

Today's game was STAC's Think Pink game where money was raise either through donations or based on goals scored.  STAC recognized loved ones that have been affected by breast cancer and raised money that will be used towards breast cancer research. 

Kaitlyn Lonergan had 5 saves for STAC.  The Lady Spartans will return to action on Friday as they host UDC at 1:00 p.m.
