Courtney McGrath Earns Defensive Player of the Year Award

St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse player Courtney McGrath was named the ECC Defensive Player of the Year.  McGrath helped the Lady Spartans to a second straight appearance in the ECC Championship with outstanding defense from the midfield position. Her 36 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers were both good for fifth in the conference.

McGrath came to STAC as a grad student finishing her final season of eligibility.  McGrath also scored 32 goals and had a team high 41 assists on the season.  The Nanuet native was also a first team selection as a midfielder.  The Spartans finished the season at 10-6 and 6-2 in conference play.
