The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat Queens College, 17-6 on Tuesday afternoon. Kellie Kucinski lead the Spartans in goal with five and one assist while Courtney McGrath and Genevieve Stickney added three goals each. McGrath had three assists for STAC and Stickney added one. Kaitlyn Lonergan had five saves for STAC.
Genevieve Stickney got the Spartans on the scoreboard with two quick goals; one assisted by Kucinski and one by McGrath. Queens responded with a goal from Alyssa McCormick. McCormick finished with two goals for the Knights. The next three Spartan goals came from Sabrina Prestano, Tierney Lynch and Kucinski as STAC had eight different goal scorers.
Caroline Finnen along with Stcikney added two more goals for STAC to take a 7-3 lead into the break. Finnen had 2 goals for the Spartans; one in each half. Samantha Lowney and Alyson Brennan each added goals for STAC down the stretch. Ruth Pluviose had nine draw controls for the Spartans.
The Spartans will return to action on Saturday at LIU Post at 1:00 pm.
