Spartans Dominate Firebirds, 18-3

The St. Thomas Aquinas Women's Lacrosse Team beat UDC, 18-3 on Sunday afternoon.  Courtney McGrath had three goals and four assists to lead the Spartan offense. Caroline Finnen and Samantha Lowney had four and three goals respectively.  The Spartans had nine different goal scorers including starting goal keeper Kaitlyn Lonergan. 

The Spartans controlled the entire first half dominating on offense and taking a 14-0 lead into the break.  Kellie Kucinski had two first half goals and Genevieve Stickney, Sabrina Prestano and Ruth Pluviose each added a goal in the first half.  

Katherine Boriello had a goal to start the second half off an assist from Lonergan.  Lonergan's goal and assist were the goalie's first of her collegiate career.  Melissa Gabay recorded three saves for the Spartans. Jazmin Lopez scored two goals for UDC and Aaliyah Carter had one goal. 

The Spartans finished the regular season with a 6-2 conference record and sit in 3rd place heading into the post season.  STAC will play at #2 seed Dowling College on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
