The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat Georgian Court, 15-13 in Overtime on Wednesday, March 4th. Kellie Kucinski scored 4 goals and had 2 assists for the Spartans including one goal in overtime. Freshmen Caroline Finnen added 3 goals including the final goal of the game to help secure the victory for STAC. Kaitlyn Lonergan had 8 saves in the win.
Kucinski opened the game with the first goal for STAC followed by two goals for Samantha Lowney who finished with 3 goals and an assist for the day. Grad Student Courtney McGrath and Genevieve Stickney scored two first half goals as the Spartans held an 11-5 lead at the break.
The Lions outscired STAC 5-2 in the second half to force the over time session. Kucinski and Finnen delivered in the final minutes to edge Georgian Court.
STAC will play Franklin Pierce on Sunday.
