Spartan Lacrosse Tops Findlay, 13-10

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat Findlay University, 13-10 on Sunday evening. Ruth Pluviose had 5 goals and 1 assist in the win.  Caroline Finnen and Sabrina Prestano each added 3 goals and 1 assist.  Caitlin Lonergan had 7 saves in her first win of the season.

The Spartans got on the scoreboard first as Katherine Borriello assisted on Finnen's first goal at the 28:12 mark.  Findlay answered two minutes later with an unassisted goal from Kyra Bradley. STAC outscored Findlay 5-4 for the remainder of the half with two of those goals coming from Pluviose.  

Pluviose continued her strong play scoring three of the Spartans first four goals of the half to give them a 10-6 lead with less then twenty minutes to go.  Bradley sparked a late run for Findlay scoring their final three goals and finishing with 5 for the game, but the Spartans held on for a 13-10 victory.  Borriello and freshman Sarah Quatro each added a goal for the Spartans.  

The Spartans will return to action on Wednesday when they play at Dominican College for a 4:00 p.m. game.
