Spartans Pick Up 16-4 Win Over Lions

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat Georgian Court, 16-4 on Wednesday afternoon.  Ruth Pluviose and Courtney Dumain each scored 4 goals for STAC.  Caroline Finnen added 3 goals for the Spartans while Sabrina Prestano had 1 goal and a game high 4 assists.

Georgian Court got off to a quick start scoring back to back goals to take an early 2-0 lead.  The Spartans were able to regroup and tie the game with two unassisted goals from Pluviose.  Taylor Bauerband scored for the Lions to give them their final lead for the day, 3-2 with 18:29 left in the half.  

The Spartans scored 8 more goals during the first half to take a 10-3 lead into the break.  Sarah Quatro added two goals in that span for STAC.

STAC remained in control of the game throughout the second half outscoring the Lions, 6-1. Katherine Borriello and Marist Parr each added goals for the Spartans.  Melissa Gabay earned the win in goal recording 3 saves.  Laura Delorenzo and Katherin Feigenbaum each saw minutes in gaol; Delorenzo had 1 save.  

STAC moves to 4-3 with the win and 1-0 in the ECC.  The Spartans will return to action when the host, ECC opponent Mercy College on Saturday at 11:30 am.
