Women's Lacrosse Announces New Assistant Coach Hires

St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Lacrosse Head Coach, Stephanie Hopkins announced two new additions for her coaching staff on Thursday afternoon.

Joining the staff will be Spartan Alum and former starting goalie (2013-2016), Kaitlyn Lonergan and American University stand out midfielder, Terese Buechli (2013-2016).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

About Lonergan:


Kaitlyn Lonergan is entering her first year as an Assistant Coach with St. Thomas Aquinas College. Lonergan graduated with her Bachelor's Degree from STAC in 2016, where she played both lacrosse and field hockey. Kaitlyn majored in Childhood Education and is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Special Education.

Lonergan was the Spartans starting goalie for 4 years under Head Coach, Stephanie Hopkins. During this time, Kaitlyn earned several ECC awards including Rookie of the Week, Player of the week and Commissioner's Honor Roll. In addition, Kaitlyn received the Defensive Player of the Year Award, Rookie of the Year Award and Spartan Leadership Award from St. Thomas Aquinas College.

In the fall of 2016, Kaitlyn coached a 5th/6th grade girls team for Prime Time Lacrosse.

Lonergan was born and raised in Stony Point, NY.

About Buechli:

Terese Buechli joins St. Thomas Aquinas College after her collegiate career at American University in Washington, D.C. as a midfielder. A 4 year letter-winner at AU, Buechli was a two time captain in 2015 and 2016.

Terese was a Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection for all 4 years of her career, a Second Team All-Patriot League Honoree and Team MVP her junior year.

Buechli graduated from American University in 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and is currently working towards completing her Master's Degree in Taxation at St. John's University.

Terese hails from West Nyack, NY.
