Spartan Fall Short at Findlay, 9-7

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team lost at Findlay, 9-7 on Friday afternoon.  Jennifer Farrell had three goals and three assists to lead the Spartan offense.  

Danielle Heady put the Spartans on the scoreboard in the opening minute of action with her goal.  The home team responded shortly after with back to back goals to take a 2-1 lead.  The Spartans added two more first half goals; one from Samantha Rifice and one from Caroline Finnen, both assisted by Farrell.  

Findlay added two more goals to close the first half with a 5-3 lead.  Both squads added four second half goals giving the hosts a 9-7 win.  Farrell had three of the Spartans four second half goals and assisted on Emily Glennon's goal.  

The Spartans won the draw controls 10-8 but Findlay had a slight advantage with 18 shots to the Spartans 17.  Laura Delorenzo had five save for the Spartans.  STAC will play at Tiffin on Sunday at noon.
