The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat the District of Columbia, 20-2 on Sunday afternoon. Caroline Finnen scored six goals and added one assist for the Spartans.
The Spartans first six goals came from six different scorers with Emily Glennon scoring the first goal of the game off an assist from Kaitlyn Gutenberger. Danielle Cajou added the next goal then Gutenberger scored and added another assist off a goal from Arielle Rodriguez. Caitlin Verber scored the Spartans fifth goal and Caroline Finnen followed with her first goal off an assist from Rodriguez. Finnen added four more first half goals while Cajou Gutenberger and Rodriguez each chipped in additional first half goals as well.
The Spartans held a 14-1 lead at the break and dominated with 20-7 first half shots and 33-15 for the game. Gabrielle DiFusco added two second half goals and two assists for the game. Emma Notarino scored the Spartans final goal of the game. Melissa Gabay had two saves in the win while Laura Delorenzo and Katherine Feigenbaum each recorded four saves.
The Spartans will host LIU Post on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
