Purple Knights Snap Spartans Win Streak with 17-6 Victory

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team lost at home on Saturday afternoon, falling 17-6 to the University of Bridgeport. Freshman Leanna Iobbi scored three goals and had one assist for the Spartans.

Kaitlyn Gutenberger scored the first goal of the game off an assist from Jennifer Farrell.  Iobbi scored her first goal at the 28:14 mark to give STAC a 2-0 lead but the Purple Knights rattled off the next sixteen goals.  

The Spartans scored four of the games final five goals as Gutenberger, Iobbi and Farrell scored three in a row.  Bridgeport received five goals and one assist from Danielle Kreitler.  The Purple Knights had 40 shots to the Spartans 19.  Katherine Feigenbaum recorded 19 saves in the loss.  

The Spartans will return to action on Monday when they host Roberts Wesleyan at 3:00 p.m.
