STAC Women's Lacrosse Falls At Daemen, 16-2

Amherst, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Lacrosse team dropped an 16-2 road decision to Daemen University, in an ECC matchup on Saturday afternoon at Coyer Field. 

STAC falls to 3-8 overall and 0-2 in conference play with its fifth straight setback, while Daemen moves to 3-8 and 1-1 on the year.

Katelyn Cerrato and Arianna Tribble led the Spartans' offense with a goal apiece on the afternoon. Goalie Lilah Magenheimer (L, 3-8) got the start between the pipes for the maroon and gold and stopped 17 of 33 shots faced.

Meanwhile, Daemen was led by Ella Bouley, who tallied four goals and an assist, while Olivia Wade and Avery Castner added three goals each and Cadence Baran and Dana Bacher scored two goals apiece. Teammates Kylie Miranto and Jenna Havert also added to the totals on the scoreboard with a goal each. Goalie Tatiana Wright (W, 2-3) made five saves in 45 minutes of action, before being relieved by Blair Pfohl for the final quarter. Pfohl stopped all four shots that she faced.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

  • Daemen outshot STAC 42-17 (33-11 on goal) for the game.
  • Katelyn Cerrato and Arianna Tribble each tallied a team-high five shots for the Spartans.
  • Hailey Galison collected four of the Spartans 16 ground balls in the match.
  • The Cerrato sisters; Samantha and Katelyn caused two Wildcats turnovers apiece on the afternoon. 
  • Daemen won 13 of 21 draw controls.

STAC hosts the University of the District of Columbia on Saturday, April 6 (12:00 p.m.) at Spartan Field. The Spartans will also recognize Mental Health Awareness Day prior to the start of their ECC contest with the Firebirds. Fans are encouraged to wear green in support of the cause.
