STAC Women's Lacrosse Closes 2024 Season With 17-8 Loss At Molloy

Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Lacrosse team closed its 2024 season on Friday evening, falling 17-8 to Molloy University at the RVC Sports Complex on Long Island.

STAC wrapped up the season, with a 4-12 overall record and 1-5 mark within the ECC, while Molloy improves to 8-7 and 2-3.

Samantha Cerrato, Katelyn Cerrato and Ella Entress led the Spartans' offense with two goals apiece in the match. Teammates, Hailey Galison (1 goal, 1 assist) and Olivia Cerbo contributed to the cause, with each tallying a goal for the maroon and gold. Goalie Lilah Magenheimer (L, 4-12) got the start in net for the visitors and stopped 7 of 24 shots faced to close out her rookie campaign.

Meanwhile, Molloy was led by Megan Rugolo, who put up five goals and an assist. Sofia Quitoni tallied a hat-trick, while Alexa Amorison scored twice and added two assists and Victoria Bustamante netted a pair of goals for the Lions. Additionally, Joanna Mauceri (1 goal, 1 assist), Isabella Klemm (1 goal, 1 assist), Erin Murphy (1 goal, 1 assist), Brenna Signorelli (1 goal) and Alessandra Borsellino (1 goal) added to the totals on the scoreboard for the hosts. Mary-Kate Sweeney (W, 7-7) stopped two-of-five shots in a little over 35 minutes of action, before Nicole Schaumloffel took over in the cage for the final 24 plus minutes, and turned away one-of-six shots to close out the conference matchup.

  • Katelyn Cerrato and Arianna Tribble tallied a team-high four shots apiece for the maroon and gold.
