Roberts Wesleyan Overpowers STAC in 20-1 Road Loss

Rochester, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Lacrosse team suffered a 20-1 defeat at the hands of Roberts Wesleyan University, in an East Coast Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at Redhawks Field.

STAC falls to 4-11 overall and 1-4 in ECC play, while Roberts Wesleyan improves to 9-5 and 5-0.

Ella Entress led the Spartans' offense with the lone goal in the match, as Arianna Tribble picked up the assist. Goalie Lilah Magenheimer (L, 4-11) got the start between the pipes for the maroon and gold and stopped 9 of 29 shots faced.

Meanwhile, Roberts Wesleyan was paced by Emma Blumenstock, who tallied four goals and four assists, while Annie Mulhall added four goals and two helpers and both Kadie Tierney and Sophia Podszebka chipped in three goals and two assists each. Teammates Lucy Rugaber (2 goals, 1 assist), Ella Dossier (2 goals, 1 assist), Tannah O'Neil-Blake (1 goal, 1 assist) and Avery Barnhill (1 goal) added to the totals both on the scoreboard and the scoresheet. Goalies Shawna Lesmerises (W, 9-5), 4 Saves, and Grace Keenan, 4 saves, split time in the cage for the Redhawks.

  • Ella Entress and Arianna Tribble each tallied a team-high four shots (four on goal) for the maroon and gold.
  • Hailey Galison gathered six of the Spartans 11 ground balls in the match.
  • Galison also caused three of the Redhawks turnovers on the afternoon. Additionally, she was successful on two draws.
  • Roberts Wesleyan won 19 of 22 draw controls.
