Women's Lacrosse Slated To Finish Sixth According To ECC Preseason Coaches Poll

Sparkill, N.Y. – On Tuesday, the East Coast Conference announced the results of its Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll, with St. Thomas Aquinas College picked to finish sixth in the league's standings. 

The Spartans posted a 4-12 record (1-5 ECC) in 2024 and will return nine players from last year's squad, including; Hailey Galison (M), Charlotte Luquer (A), Clare Griffin (A), Ella Entress (A), Brianna Cote (D), Katelyn Cerrato (M), Meghan Tarantino (A), Lilah Magenheimer (GK) and Madison Powers (D).

Fourth year head coach Genesis Pachecho has added a mix of upperclassmen and freshman for the upcoming campaign. Phileine Langeveld (Fr.|D|Naarden, Netherlands), Madelief Heijmans (Fr.|M/D|Oisterwijk, Netherlands), Jada Garcia (Jr.|A|Old Bridge, N.J.|Dominican University), Morgan VanDover (Fr.|M/D|Mannington, N.J.), Lily Schommer (Fr.|A/M|Chula Vista, Calif.|Otay Ranch) and Cecilia Gooding (Fr.|D|Queens, N.Y.) make up the new faces who will bring their skills and talents to Sparkill for the new season.

St. Thomas Aquinas will battle defending ECC Champs Roberts Wesleyan University, along with Mercy University, Molloy University, D'Youville University, Daemen University and the University of the District of Columbia for the right to be called ECC Women's Lacrosse Champion. The teams will only play each other once in the regular season.

The action gets underway for the Spartans on Sunday, February 16 (12:00 p.m.) against non-conference opponent Wilmington University (Del.) at Spartan Field in Sparkill, N.Y.
