
Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Lacrosse team suffered a 20-2 loss to No. 25 IWLCA-ranked Mercy University on Wednesday afternoon in Westchester County.
STAC drops its seventh straight contest, and falls to 3-9 overall and 0-4 in ECC play, while Mercy improves to 6-5 and 2-1.
Jada Garcia and Katelyn Cerrato led the Spartans' offense with a goal apiece on the day. Goalie Lilah Magenheimer (L, 3-6) got the start between the pipes for the maroon and gold and stopped 4 of 17 shots faced in the first half. Ailsa Ogilvie saw action in the second half and turned aside 1 of 8 shots thrown her way.
Meanwhile, Mercy was led by Riley Wallace and Ashlinn Kelly, who tallied four goals and an assist each, while Leah Hansen added three goals and three helpers. Teammates Dakota Dieumegard (2 goals, 2 assists), Kayden Meyer (2, goals, 2 assists), Marena Morales (2 goals), Tatiana Moran (1 goal, 1 assist), Maeghan Callow (1 goal, 1 assist) and Juliana Talenti (1 goal) added to the totals both on the scoreboard and the scoresheet. Goalies Olivia LaMonica (W, 6-5), 0 Saves, Olivia Bradley, 2 Saves and Liz Byrne, 2 saves all saw action in the cage for the Mavericks.
