
Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Lacrosse team opened its 2025 campaign, hosting American International College at Spartan Field on Saturday afternoon. The high-powered offenses of both squads combined to tally 41 goals. However, the Spartans came out on the wrong side of a heartbreaking 21-20 defeat at the hands of the visiting Yellow Jackets.
STAC slips to 0-1 on the season, while AIC moves to 1-1.
Hailey Galison led the Spartans' offense with five goals and five assists, while teammates Katelyn Cerrato scored five times and added three helpers and Ella Entress found the back of the cage five times and recorded an assist. Jada Garcia (3 goals, 1 assist) and Meghan Tarantino (2 goals) also added to the aggregate on the scoreboard for the maroon and gold. Goalie Alisa Ogilvie (L, 0-1) got the start between the pipes for STAC and stopped 5 of 26 shots faced on the day.
Meanwhile, American International was led by Jordyn Galgay, who tallied six goals and added four assists. Isabella Stone (5 goals, 1 assist), Gabrielle Walz (4 goals, 6 assists), Mackenna Donohue (3 goals), Kathryn Letteri (2 goals) and Robin Trombly (1 goal, 1 assist) all showed off their scoring abilities, adding to the totals on the scoresheet for the Yellow Jackets. Goalies Maggie Kloster (W, 1-1) and Emily French both saw time in net for AIC. Kloster turned aside 14 of 33 shots fired her way over 57 plus minutes of action, while French saw just under three minutes and allowed a goal on the only shot that she faced.

- STAC outshot American International 41-32 (34-26 on goal) for the match.
- Graduate Student Hailey Galison tallied a game-high 15 shots, with 11 going on net for St. Thomas Aquinas.
- Galison also gathered six of the Spartans 21 ground balls and also caused three turnovers.
- STAC won 24 of 45 draw controls on the afternoon, with Hailey Galison winning 13 and fellow graduate student Katelyn Cerrato taking seven.
