STAC Women's Soccer selected 8th in the ECC Preseason Poll

The ECC announced its Preseason Selections for Women's Soccer.  St. Thomas Aquinas College was selected 8th out of ten teams.  The Lady Spartants finished the 2007 season with a conference record of 2-7-1, and an overall finish of 4-13-1.  The Spartans are led by  Stacey Samora of Suffern, NY.  The senior co-captain led last years squad with six goals.

The Spartans have added nine freshmen to this year's roster to accompany their ten returning players.  With only two seniors on their roster, the young team is looking to improve upon last year's conference finish as well as gain valuable experience for the years to come.

C.W. Post, the defending conference champs, received the first place vote, coming off a 9-1 ECC record.  The Pioneers, Anna Svennson was tabbed the ECC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.  The Lady Spartans will face the defending champs on the road on October 14th.

STAC kicks off the 2008 season on September 3rd vs. Mt. St. Vincent.  The game is a home contest that will be played at Herb Reisman Field, slated for a 6:30pm start.
