Powerful AIC Beats STAC

Yellow Jackets Too Strong for Spartans

The Lady Spartans (1-3) dropped their third consecutive game to Northeast-10 powerhouse AIC.   STAC got off to a good start as freshmen Katherine Dapolito scored the first goal of the game, however the Yellow Jackets answered back with six goals of their own to improve their overall record to 5-0-1 with the victory.

Dapolito's goal came from the center of the goal box as she fought off a defender for the ball and turned to score it at 11:23.  Freshmen Michaelle Kelly recorded the assist on the play.  Shortly after that AIC followed with back to back goals of their own to regain the lead.  The Yellow Jackets rattled off three more goals to close out the first half.  Sophomore Sarah Boornazian scored two goals, while Morgan Mastronardi, Meghan O'Herron and Tyler Rockefeller each added a goal for AIC.  Yellow Jacket's freshmen Hillary Cooke scored the lone goal of the second half off a penalty kick at 55:27.

STAC will return in action on Thursday as they take on Felician College at Eugene Levy/Herb Reisman Field.  The game is slated for a 6:30PM start.
