Lady Spartans Drop Close One to Felician

The STAC women's soccer team fell short in their come back run against Felician College on Thursday evening.  The Spartans were down 2-0 until freshmen Liz Gronwodlt's goal nine minutes into the second half put them within one.

Felician got off to a quick start with goals from sophomores D.J. Jacobowitz and Nora Selimovic in the first half.   Gronwoldlt, who found herself in the right place in front of the goal, was able to score it past Felician goalie Amanda Mussarra, connecting on the third goal of her career.

The Golden Falcons answered back with their third goal of the game when senior Lindsey Petry scored at 52:25.  Spartan freshmen Katherine Dapolito was able to connect on a goal at 65:10 trying to spark a late run.  Dapolito leads the Spartans in points (10) with five goals on the season.

Despite STAC's twenty-one shot attempts to Felicians twelve the Spartans were not able to close the gap.  Spartan goalie Cynthia Campion recorded seven saves for the game.  The Spartans will return to action on Saturday at 1:00 against conference foe Mercy College.
