Spartans Come Up Short Against Molloy

Biolsi Scores 4th Goal of the Season

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 conference game to the visiting Lions of Molloy College.  STAC was down 2-0 in the first half but continued their attack as sophomore Nicole Biolsi scored with 12:58 left to play.  The Spartans had a few other opportunities to tie up the score but came up just short.

Molloy College received goals from Gillian Fortune (37:04) and Ashley Kilcommons (25:53) which proved to be enough to claim the victory. Senior Stacey Samora initiated the Spartan's offensive output, dribbling past Molloy defenders to cross the ball to Biolsi who netted one past the Lions goalkeeper.  Biolsi's goal was her fourth of the season giving her a total of ten points on the year.

Freshmen Cynthia Campion, who played in goal for the Spartans during the second half, recorded two saves boosting her career total to 58.  Junior Renee Remmers continued her aggressive play in the backfield for the Spartans fighting off numerous Lions scoring opportunities.

The Spartans dropped to (0-4-1) in the conference and will travel to conference opponent C.W. Post (3-0) on Tuesday.
