Lady Spartans Fall to Warriors 4-1

Quick Start Overpowers Lady Spartans

The STAC women's soccer team found themselves down early against cross town rival Nyack College.  The Spartans struggled in the first half giving up three goals.  Senior captain Stacey Samora scored her first goal of the season at 86:03.  Samora is second on STAC's all time* scoring list with 14 career goals.

Nyack freshmen striker Susanna Bicknell scored at 5:05 off a long shot from the right side into the back left corner of the goal.  Senior midfielder Agnes Hitimana followed up with a goal off a penalty kick at 13:14.  Warrior junior Brittany Kimlingen added her first goal of the season with a shot that went over STAC goalie Julia Karl and bounced off the crossbar and into the net.  Sophomore Alisha Smith scored the final goal for the Warriors at 59:46.

Karl, who made her college debut in todays outing, recorded three saves for the Spartans (1-2).  The young STAC team which consists of eight freshmen, six of whom are starters, will need to make a quick turn around as they face Northeast-10 powerhouse AIC (4-0-1) on Monday.
