The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team beat visiting Bloomfiled College,1-0 in this evenings contest.  Sophomore Liz Gronwoldt scored off a pass from Ashley Nevins nineteen minutes into the game.  Jeanette Gibson recorded nine saves for the day to record her second shut out of the season.

With a 1-0 lead and six minutes remaining Gibson was given a Yellow Card off an aggressive play in the box which resulted in a penalty kick.  The senior keeper made a great save to hold onto to the win and boost the teams momentum.  Gronwoldt's goal was her third of the season coming off an indirect kick which she was able to control turn and shoot into the left corner. 

The Lady Spartans received a solid defensive game from sophomore Julia Karl.  STAC out shot Bloomfield 15-11 including ten shots on goal as Kira Wagar also tallied nine saves.  The win puts STAC at (3-4) for the season as they get ready to play their first conference opponent next Tuesday as they face Queens College at 4:00 PM.
