The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team beat Goldey-Beacom College 3-1 this afternoon.  Junior Liz Gronwoldt got the Lady Spartans on the board scoring her first goal of the season off a penalty kick.  Tori Matt added two goals for STAC as she leads the Lady Spartans with 7 points. 

Gronwoldt scored her goal at the 22:04 mark after being taken down in the box by the Goldey-Beacom keeper.  The Lightning scored a goal early in the second half to tie the score.  STAC responded quickly as Matt knocked in a deflected ball to put STAC ahead 2-1.  Matt's second goal came off an assist from junior Katherine Dapolito. 

The Lady Spartans will return to action when they host Felician College on Thursday September 16th.  The game will be played at 3:30 PM at North Rockland Soccer Association.
