STAC Women's Soccer Topped by LIU Post

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team fell to a 6-0 defeat at the hands of LIU Post in an East Coast Conference contest at Spartan Field. The Lady Spartans now stand at 0-10 overall and 0-7 in the ECC, with Post improving to 10-3, 4-2.

STAC battled the powerful Pioneers throughout the first half, trailing by just a 1-0 margin into the final minutes on the strength of an Alexa Nicoforo goal in the 14th minute. Post's pressure paid off with just under two minutes remaining before the break, when Katie Kingston converted from in close to put the visitors up by a pair at the break.

Again, the Lady Spartans would show some battle after the break until a strong individual effort from Suzanne Vistnes resulted in a goal in the 63rd minute, opening the floodgates at LIU Post would convert three more times in the final 20 minutes of play.

Lauren Morales made the start for St. Thomas Aquinas, allowing three goals while making nine saves while Avaree Rainford would come in to finish the contest. Felicia Orderud and Hana Agnasdottir split the duties between the pipes for Post in combining for the shutout.

The Lady Spartans have a quick turnaround, returning to Spartan Field on Sunday, October 20 to take on Penn College in a 2:00 pm start.
