STAC Women's Soccer Drops Season Finale to Roberts Wesleyan, 2-1

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team finished the 2013 season with a 2-1 East Coast Conference loss at the hands of Roberts Wesleyan at Spartan Field. Kelly Moresi was the team's lone senior, honored in pre-game ceremonies. The Lady Spartans finished the season with a 2-12 overall record, 0-9 in ECC play, with Roberts Wesleyan moving to 10-4-2, 6-2-0.

Roberts jumped on top early on a long Brittany Foster shot that sailed over the outstretched hands of STAC netminder Lauren Morales at the 16:49 mark. The Lady Spartans knotted the score minutes later, when Nisha Flinn's corner kick was headed by Mae Comerford and into the path of Lindsey Sansone, who drilled it home at 24:08.

STAC played a spirited Senior Day contest, staying with it's upstate visitors througout the afternoon, but the Redhawks would break through with the deciding goal in the second half. Foster put home her second of the day, converting a long pass from goalkeeper Marissa Sell at 69:22 with what would prove to be the game-winner.

Morales made four saves in the STAC net with Sell turning aside six, as RWC outshot the hosts by a 16-12 margin.
