The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team started its northern trip on a tough note, with a 4-0 East Coast Conference loss at Roberts Wesleyan College. The Lady Spartans fall to 4-3-1 overall and 1-3-0 in conference, with RWC improving to 5-5-0, 1-2-0.
Roberts applied the pressure early on and broke through at the 23:29 mark on Ellie Swan's header. Swan then assisted on Bella Mitrevski's marker at 31:21, and Heaven Palamatia added a third at 44:04 to give the Redhawks a commanding halftime lead.
Jackie Corbett added a final tally at 71:38 to complete the evening's scoring, as RWC outshot STAC by a 19-6 margin. Lady Spartans keeper Amanda Volpe made eight saves for the game.
The Lady Spartans get just one day of rest before squaring off with Daemen College on Sunday, October 5, in an 11:00 am start. They will travel to Queens College for another ECC tilt on Saturday, October 11, at noon before returning to Spartan Field to host Post University on October 15, in a 1:00 pm start.
