STAC Women's Soccer Drops Opener at Ramapo

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team dropped its 2015 season opener by a 6-0 count in a non-conference battle at Ramapo College on Wednesday.

Ramapo applied some early pressure before finally breaking through, scoring three goals in quick succession. Amber Hermanns scored the first goal of the season at the 13:47 mark, and Nicole Ninomiya added a pair within just over a minute of each other, tripping the twine at 19:47 and 20:48.

That would put the final result out of question, even before the host Roadrunners added three second-half tallies. Lauren Morales made four saves in playing the first half and absorbed the loss, with Courtney Dumain adding three saves in the second half in her first collegiate appearance between the pipes. Jessica Cusick recorded five saves in earning the shutout for Ramapo.

The Lady Spartans play their second of four straight on the road to start the season traveling to Washington Adventist on Sunday, September 6th at 6:00 pm. Their home opener will be on September 15th when STAC hosts Malone at 2:30 pm at Spartan Field.
