Spartans Slated to Open Season Thursday at Ramapo

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's soccer team will open the 2015 season this Thursday at Ramapo College.  The Spartans are coming off  one of their best season's in programs history where they posted a 6-7-2 record.  STAC finished 8th in the ECC Coaches Poll while LIU Post took the top spot in the poll with 3 first place votes.

The Spartans graduated their top goal scorer, Mae Comerford, who notched 5 goals and 1 assists for STAC in 2014.  STAC adds 6 freshmen and 2 transfers to this years squad while returning senior captain Maddison Lord.  

STAC will play their first four games on the road before opening at home on September 15th against Malone College from N.Y.  The Spartans will follow that game with their first ECC game at Dowling College.  The Golden Lions were selected 4th in the ECC Poll.  

This is the first time the Spartan women's soccer team is competing against Ramapo in a regular season competition.  Thursday's game is slated for a 3:00 p.m. start.
